IRULEA: FAMILY TRADITION SINCE 1932
IRULEA means spinner in Basque, and this store that, in its beginnings, was dedicated to the sale of household linen, later began with baby items, cribs, children's and youth furniture, children's clothing, accessories, women's lingerie, household linen , custom tailoring, embroidery of initials and sale of fabrics and lace by the meter.
It was founded in 1932 by Doña Manuela Barandiaran in the old part of San Sebastián, more specifically on Calle Mayor 7, where time seems to have stopped, since it continues to conserve all the original furniture and decoration, a marvel.
In 1952 it became managed by his daughter Doña Mª Luisa Pagola Barandiaran who ran the business for more than 60 years, and currently, Ayago (third generation) is the one who runs IRULEA.
IRULEA: much more than a shop
IRULEA is much more than a store steeped in history, as they have dressed the English Royal House . At the presentation of Princess Charlotte Elisabeth Diana, the English Royal House chose the first outfit from our store, which consisted of a hand-knitted off-white wool hat decorated with small eights, made in the IRULEA workshops.
Irulea and Twin & Chic
For us, IRULEA is very special since it was the first point of sale that trusted our brand. We started selling in this space in March 2018 with a collection of 12 items: 6 for girls and 6 for boys.
